Our history

The Second Home Foundation was created by dog lovers concerned about the fate of these animals. From the beginning of our activity, we have been involved in helping dogs on various levels, bringing together pet friends and people with big hearts.

We started as a group of volunteers

It is a difficult, strenuous job that requires good physical condition, but also the ability to deal with emotions.

We undertook difficult, very demanding tasks – we brought dogs from Ukraine, we went for interventions. We organized walks with dogs to keep them company and give them some “normality”. In this group, we consider ourselves professionals, there are qualified behaviorists among us. You can meet us in the park, but above all, you can meet “our” dogs there. And although we often do not know their history, we will tell you about them and advise you. Not every guardian, not every home for every dog. However, if you have the heart of a man who sounds proud, we will find a friend for you, we will find joy for you, we will find a dog for you.

How do we do it?

We have worked with many dangerous dogs. Here are our examples of dogs that had the hardest time finding a home.

Szaman. The dog has been socialized and marked in the shelter with the label “I don’t go out without a muzzle” – that is, with no chance of adoption.

Our hallmark

Our group of Volunteers stands out with special jackets with the logo of the Second Home Foundation. Thanks to this, they are visible in various conditions, and you can be sure that the dog is being helped by a person who has knowledge in this field.

We help to find
a Second Home

We help dogs that have lost their owners. These are dogs that were found, harmed or taken away by intervention and ended up in a shelter. But in our understanding, a shelter, even the best one, is not a home. Because a dog’s home is a person the dog trusted before it was born. We invite you to the park, we invite you to adopt.

For us, the most important thing is to help overcome the fear of adopting a homeless dog. That’s why we organize dog walks outside the shelter and also educate about dogs.
